Perched on Tenaya Peak, Yosemite National Park.

Diagnosed in January of 2020 with metastatic breast cancer after twenty years good, Karen is a retired Clinical Laboratory Scientist and owner/operator and guide for Sierra Spirit LLC a Full Service Sierra Nevada Guiding Company that specialized in leading backpack trips to little-known waterfalls and epic look-outs in Yosemite and Inyo National Forest. Created, implemented and ran the REI Adventures Yosemite program (28 trips and 260 clients in 2012 alone). Karen likes to wander through the world with her heart wide open and write about it. “I’m hoping what you read here will inspire you to see your life in a new light.”
